Browne Chardonnay ’15

In this wine you’ll find the familiar creamy, buttery, smooth, and toasted flavors of Chardonnay, but additionally, tropical notes of mango and guava, and hints of lemon and vanilla. The unexpected flavor profile is owed in part to the blended Viogner, providing that… je-ne-sais-quoi. Don’t serve this wine fridge-cold; you’ll get more depth from a Chard that has mellowed on the counter.

Chardonnays are a tough food match. They can be easily overwhelmed by bold flavors. Avoid spicy or acidic foods, and lean toward dishes with similar qualities to those found in the wine.

Pleasant companion for: Rich risottos or creamy pasta dishes. Vegetables with a touch of sweetness such as sweet potatoes, avocados, peas, carrots and corn will accentuate the buttery qualities of the wine. Roasted nuts or bread compliment the toasted notes imparted from the oak barrels during aging. Halibut, cod, lobster and shellfish are all great seafood pairings.
