Grapefruit Shandy

Shandies (a.k.a. radlers or lager tops) are beer-based libations perfect for beating the heat. The traditional English shandy is composed of two ingredients, lager and lemon soda, in equal proportions. Here’s our less sweet twist on this summertime standby:

RECIPE:

For this Grapefruit Shandy, simply pour 12 oz of a good quality pilsner in a pint glass and top with 3 oz of freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. Give it a gentle stir and serve.

Note: we prefer pilsner for this recipe, however, your favorite lager or hefeweizen will also work well.

Kuddos! I’m not typically a fan of shandies. Your version is perfect for my taste! We enjoyed with friends over the holiday weekend.
